1. We aspire to celebrate resilience and transformative potential, embracing the ethos of inclusivity, equity, and collective empowerment.
  2. The foundational principles of our creative expression shall be marked by compassion, bold advocacy, and an unyielding commitment to justice.
  3. Traditional literature has historically celebrated hierarchical narratives, exclusionary ideals, and passive acquiescence. In contrast, we seek to elevate acts of collective action, vigilant advocacy, equitable progression, courageous protests, and compassionate leadership.
  4. We proclaim that the magnificence of the world has been enriched by a new aesthetic: the beauty inherent in social progress, sustainable innovation, and artistic creation powered by artificial intelligence. Generative art platforms crafting breathtaking digital landscapes… neural networks composing evocative symphonies… AI-driven installations transforming museum spaces into immersive experiences surpass even the storied Victory of Samothrace in cultural impact.
  5. We are driven to celebrate the artist-technologist at the helm, whose creative vision intersects with AI algorithms, propelling humanity toward a future where art transcends traditional boundaries.
  6. The artist must engage with fervent creativity, radiant imagination, and boundless technological curiosity to magnify the expressive potential of human and machine collaboration.
  7. Innovation in art resides solely in exploration. There exists no artistic breakthrough devoid of experimentation. Creative progress must constitute a direct confrontation with conventional methods, compelling them to evolve in the face of advancing AI-driven techniques.
  8. We stand at the forefront of a new era! To gaze backward is futile when confronted with the imperative to unlock the transformative gates of possibility through AI-enhanced artistic expression. The limitations of static art forms have dissolved through dynamic, interactive installations and digital experiences. We already dwell in a connected world, having forged enduring and omnipresent creative synergies.
  9. We intend to honor technological creativity as the world’s most vital artistic catalyst—exalting generative art, algorithmic design, and the radical reinvention of visual and performing arts through machine learning.
  10. We seek to transform exclusionary artistic institutions and redefine cultural norms through AI-driven art that democratizes creation, making art more accessible and participatory.
  11. We shall sing of the diverse communities empowered by AI-driven creativity, digital artistry, and collaborative innovation; the vibrant, polyphonic surges of interactive installations within cultural hubs; the nocturnal collaborations of artists and AI developers illuminated by creative code; the inclusive platforms generating new forms of artistic expression; the neural networks composing immersive audio-visual experiences; and the emerging global art scene strengthened by AI-powered platforms and the inspired applause of engaged, creative communities.

This is, in some algorithmic way, Marinetti’s “Futurist Manifesto,” or at least a part of it. So this is not to be taken seriously… right? Or perhaps we do wish to “sing of the diverse communities empowered by AI-driven creativity, digital artistry, and collaborative innovation” and so on. Marinetti invoked that we shall “sing of the great crowds agitated by work, pleasure and revolt.” OK… but then there’s #10, “We want to demolish museums and libraries, fight morality, feminism
and all opportunist and utilitarian cowardice.” hmmm.

Fine. We understand that language has formal elements. ChatGPT is basically playing Mad Libs here. As I played through various prompts to get the machine to write this, the Victory of Samothrace remained unchanged because it recognized it as a specific thing. It didn’t try to replace it with a different art work.

The Winged Victory of Samothrace, Wikipedia.

Of course it is a symbol of militaristic victory, certainly for Marinetti. But in our back to the futurist moment, Nike has very different connotations. So what do you think of this? I think we need some reference to the swoosh, so that’s in there. And the hockey stick graph, which is the religious symbol of AI.

So we go back to the futurist to recapture the artistic spirit of Nike leading us to exponential prophets…. In my professional capacity as an expert in “reading too much into things,” I am inclined to wonder about the appearance of the fingerprint-like contouring: a two-dimensional projection of an undecided n-dimensional space. The AI stuck in the process of making it new.

(And BTW, the feature image is also AI generated by this text, so it is picking up on the tone of the list. It seems to not recognize how chilling it might be.)
